Wear Your Beliefs

We didn’t start Patriots Believe to be an apparel company. We started this venture to make a bold statement that Patriots look like us - Americans who believe in social and racial justice and human rights for all. In fact, this venture exists to provide funding for organizations that support the missions we believe in. We want to be transparent about what we do with the hard-earned money you spend:

1. We’ll cover our operational costs which includes everything from the printing of your apparel to website management and the ads that likely brought you here. 
2. After we’ve covered the costs of operations, 50% of the remaining revenue will be donated to organizations that we love and trust to work on behalf of the issues Patriots Believe in. Right now we’re donating to Southern Poverty Law Center, GLSEN, and United We Dream.
3. The remaining profits will be shared along equity lines between Kate, a White woman, and Rachel, a Black woman. Why does race matter? In the United States Black women make 21% less than White women. We recognize that and resolve to make a change. Therefore, Rachel will earn 61% of any further profits and Kate will earn 39%. This doesn’t make up for centuries of wage inequality, but we have to start somewhere, we want to put our money where our mouth is, and we hope to be a model for other startups.
